Popcorn October – The Movie Guide

We have all kinds of movie genres ahead: you can find sci-fi, thriller, biography and comedy in our recommendation this month. I’m sure everyone can find a matching one! Interesting fact: two out of four movies, were made in Budapest (Blade Runner 2049 and HHhH). Just don’t forget the popcorn. 🙂

5 October – Blade Runner 2049

The continuation of the original movie comes after 35 years! Ridley Scott’s original is now directed by Denis Villeneuve and has Harrison Ford from the 1982 version and Ryan Gosling at the helm. The movie is played in 2049 in California, where we follow a young cop as he tries to unearth a long buried secret, that will have a serious effect on the future of the species. With an amazing cast (also including Jared Leto, Robin Wright and Dave Bautista) and incredible visuals, this movie will not disappoint! (Official trailer)

12 October – The Snowman

Based on Jo Nesbø’s international bestseller crime/thriller arrives the long awaited film, with Michael Fassbender playing the main character, lead detective Harry Hole. Together with a new recruit (Rebecca Ferguson) they try to find out what lies behind the disturbing pattern of a serial killer, killing people only when the snow falls and always leaving a snowman behind. The Snowman

12 October – HHhH

The title of the movie in German is: Himmlers Hirn heißt Heydrich in English: Himmler’s brain is called Heydrich. The identically titled novel by French writer Laurent Binet is about Operation Anthropoid, the assassination of Nazi leader Reinhard Heydrich in Prague. Now this is a story about a man Adolf Hitler called the man with the iron heart. An interesting take on a historical figure showing him with his family, with actors such as Jason Clarke, Rosamund Pike, Jack O’Connell and Mia Wasikowska. (Official trailer)

19 October – Killing Gunther

Now, don’t take this movie seriously for a moment. A group of young, clueless assassins of seven professionals each with a speciality try to kill the most feared hitman in the industry. They wish to be the best, by killing the king, namely Gunther. Who is played by none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger himself. And yes he promises to have the whole group terminated.
